Boulder county fair opens its
gates to fun for everyone with
free admission and free parking,
August 1st – 9th at the Boulder
County Fairgrounds in Longmont
LONGMONT, CO – The Boulder
County Fair is celebrating its
roots by providing free
admission and free parking for
the 2008 fair, which takes place
August 1st thru the 9th at the
Boulder County Fairgrounds in
Longmont. The Boulder County
Fair showcases local 4-H and FFA
clubs and features free
entertainment and exhibits. In
addition to animal and
agricultural exhibits,
fair-goers can enjoy free car
shows, weaving and spinning
demonstrations, dancing and
concerts by local artists. The
beer garden, farm equipment show
and kids’ area are open daily.
While 4-H and FFA activities
begin on Tuesday, July 29th, the
fair kicks off on Friday, August
1st for exhibits, entertainment
and carnival rides. The
Demolition Derby headlines
opening day grandstand events
and begins at 6:30 p.m. On
Saturday, August 2nd, the
community is invited to a
Chuckwagon Breakfast ($7 for
adults and teens, 12 and under
$3) beginning at 6:30 a.m. in
downtown Longmont, followed by
the grand fair parade at 10:00
a.m., which will make its way
through the streets of downtown
Longmont. The Boulder County
Fair will be open daily from
10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. with
the carnival rides and beer
garden opening at 4:00 p.m. on
weekdays, and at noon and 1:00
p.m. respectively on weekends.
The free farm equipment show and
kids area will be open daily
from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. On
Tuesday, August 5th, the Boulder
County Fair celebrates seniors
with free morning coffee and
doughnuts, a free lunch and
special entertainment throughout
the day. Kids get a special day,
too – Wednesday, August 6th –
with carnival rides opening at
noon, a discounted day pass for
the carnival rides, talent
shows, special entertainment,
interactive displays and
pictures with Bouncy Brahma
Bull.
Tickets for the Boulder County
Fair’s signature grandstand
events go on sale Monday, June
16th. Signature events include
the Demolition Derby, Truck and
Tractor Pull, Bulldozer 500, 3D
Barrel Race & Gymkhana, Ballet
on Horseback and Senior Pro
Rodeo. Ticket prices vary and
are available through

Street in Longmont or by calling
303-776-2244. Unlimited daily
carnival ride wristbands are
$20, except on August 6th when
the bands are discounted to $15.
Wristbands are only available at
the carnival.

LONGMONT, CO – The Boulder
County Fair has announced a
revised time for the Senior Pro
Rodeo taking place August 8 and
9, 2008. The Senior Pro Rodeo
will take place at 7:00 p.m.
each evening instead of 6:00
p.m. as previously listed.
WHAT: Sanctioned by the National
Senior Pro Rodeo Association (NSPRA),
Boulder County Fair’s Senior Pro
Rodeo includes nine popular
events:
Bareback, Bull Riding, Tie-Down
Roping, Ladies Barrel Racing,
Ladies Breakaway Roping, Ribbon
Roping, Saddle Bronc, Steer
Wrestling and Team
Roping. Male and female
participants will compete in
several age classifications,
starting with 40+ and
progressing to the 68+ age group
for Calf
Roping.
